Facebook introduced Moments, a new mobile app that serves as a free and private space for sharing photos with friends.

Moments uses Facebook’s face recognition feature to suggest with whom you might want to share your photos. Using a simplistic design, it keeps photo sharing simple and private, while giving you the easy breezy option of instantly publishing your “moments” on Facebook.

Photo organizing capabilities of Moments makes it a just rival for the recently released Google Photos. However, unlike Google Photos, Moments does not archive all of your data on cloud. It only saves photos if you have shared them.

Moments is currently available in the US. It can be installed on both iOS and Android devices.
